Currently wiping tears off my keyboard as I write this, because I just can’t wrap my mind around the fact that my baby girl is ONE! As cheesy as it sounds, it feels like just yesterday that she came into this world and they lifted her up onto my chest for me to see & hold her for the first time. This year has been a whirlwind watching her grow & develop into her spunky, yet bashful personality. Since she has brought so much joy to our world, we wanted to celebrate her BIG for her 1st Birthday by having all of our family & friends in one place at the same time!
We hosted her birthday at Hurstbourne Country Club (my childhood stomping grounds & Robbie and I’s rehearsal dinner venue), cause it was large enough to fit our giant families & all of our friends. Not to mention it is just such a classic & beautiful space. We wanted everyone to fill their bellies with a delicious breakfast buffet, celebrate with a mimosa (or two), and enjoy one another’s company.
The theme was inspired by The Beaufort Bonnet Company‘s “Everyday is a Gift” print. If you follow my feed, you know that Miss Vivie and I love anything and everything TBBC. I ordered her dress from there months in advance & spun the colors off of it. The room was decorated with faux present boxes as center pieces & balloons galore, with everything in the pink, pearl blue, and white color scheme. My crafty mother-in-law was such a huge help with making the present center piece bows! Instead of taking Vivie to get 1 year old pictures done, I figured why not get a backdrop and have her photos taken while she does her actual cake smash at her birthday party?! I rented this gorgeous handmade paper flower wall from J.Gardenia, who also did the balloon arch crafted over the dessert table. Jen is amazingly talented & she worked great with me to bring my vision to life! The sugar cookies & 4″ smash cake were custom made by Happy Camper Confections, who blew me away by her baking & design skills. They were just as good tasting as they looked! Lastly, my favorite detail pieces were the darling birthday hat & highchair banner designed by The Preppie Peonie! She matched the colors perfectly to Vivie’s dress & invitation, and I love that I can use both of these as a keepsake in a shadowbox now!
I made sure to order these giant coloring tablecloths for the long kids table, to keep them entertained! We sang happy birthday & watched Vivie dig into her cake smash, then ended up hanging out with our closest friends the rest of the day. It warmed my heart to have all of the people I love come celebrate Vivie & it brought some of the most precious moments that I will never forget!
